RECLAIMING THE PLANEt

RESEARCH STUDIO ON POST EXTRACTIONARY FUTURES

WE EXAMINE the changing landscape of extraction, the impact of artificial intelligence and big data on agriculture, forestry and mining and envision new more sustainable and equitable futures.

Reclaiming the Planet is a speculative architectural research project on the history and future of extraction and industrial agricultural landscapes in the Quebec region of Abitibi-Témiscamingue. The Research-Studio engages the impacts of new technologies on forestry, agriculture, and mining industries and proceeds to ask how we will inhabit these landscapes in the future and how we might design post-extractionary futures.
